Great Healthy Recipes and Eating Plans

GUIDELINES FOR A HEALTHY DIET

1) Eat eight or more servings of fresh fruit and vegetables a day

2)Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day

3)Eat at least 6 servings of whole grains

4) Eat fish and legumes (mostly beans and peas) for at least one of your proteing sources

5) Choose healthy fats (from olive oil, nuts , seeds and fish)

6) Eat more often (no less than every 4 hours)

7) Get enough calories (about 2000 per day dependent on activity level and size)

8) Always have your plate balanced with lots of vegetables and whole grains with a little protein

 

HEALTHY RECIPES

1) GARLIC DRENCHED CHICKEN

Season 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast (6 oz) with salt, black pepper and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Rub chicken all over with two minced garlic cloves. Roast at 400F for 25 minutes until cooked through

2) PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS with SPINACH and SMOKED MOZZARELLA

Top 1 portobello mushroom cap (stem removed) with 1 cup fresh spinach leaves and 1 ounce smoked mozzarella chees. Bake at 400F for 10 minutes until chees melts.
